Are green bell peppers simply unripened or are they a different variety from the reds, yellows and oranges?

Is there a variety of bell pepper that stays green when ripe or do they all go on to red, yellow orange etc.
So just to be clear, there is no such thing as a ripe green pepper?
the green peppers are unripe peppers, that if left to ripen will turn colors you mentioned.
There’s Green, Yellow, & Red. All different Bell Peppers.
