How much money does a good jockey make in a year ?

I'm not just talking about your everyday jockey i mean ones like Edgar Prado, Javier Castellano, and Frankie Dettori. I've always heard that being a jockey is hard when it comes to earning enough money to take of your everyday finances.
Most Jockeys make a very small amount per-ride
and 10 % of the prize money.
ie; TODAYS KENTUCKY DERBY # 1 winner will get like $200,000 for the day .. coz the prize is like $2 M
but for the derby ther are bonuses also and endorsement offers from advertisers.
At regular races if you win – and the purse (win jackpot) is $40,000 the jockey gets $4,000

If the 2nd place prize is $10,000 the jockey makes $1,000
if 3 rd place is $2500 he/she gets $250.
The others ..settle for like $100. per mount..or so.
Jockeys can ride for as many trainers/owners as they can negotiate a deal with. some jockey ride a horse in 8 or 9 sometimes all of a ten ( 10 ) race day at the track.
the more wins a jockey starts to get – the more he is noticed by trainers who wish too hire him and the higher he can demand a higher "guaranteed $$ fee for riding"..
