Which religion is most fit to survive when life becomes a sea of misery?

Which religion is most fit to survive the impending economic collapse, which will leave 99% of humans fighting one another over a meal of tree bark? Will it be one that teaches death as a means to escape the misery of existence, or will it be one that teaches eternal life after death? Or possibly the religions that teach eternal life will mutate, and claim we we have eternal life, but will lose the majority of our personality and will only be able to sense joy?
Not that I believe it is going to happen…. but if it did, and we did have to resort back to nature to survive, people would probably begin to steer more towards Pagan/Earth centered spiritualities. That's my guess.

The one that teaches survival in the wild.

the powers that be will never let it get to that point, theres too much money at stake for them, they will likely change the system rather than let it collapse….

Okay first of all relax with the doomsday predictions and the economy.
But hypothetically if society did collapse and we went into the dark ages I think Christianity would just run things again…OR maybe scientology would rise up and run the world …duh duh duuuuuuh!

You do not need religion or faith. I'm just looking out on a glorious day and a pigeon perched on my telephone line. Human beings are unique, at least on this planet. Yes there is going to be pain and hardship but we will bounce back. If you need to believe then believe in the human race. Why? Because we survive and help each other. I have lost count of the number of times that I have been given a helping hand by a stranger or a friend. We will weather the storm and, hopefully, come out stronger.
